  • ACORN NUT, NICKEL PLATED

    Cap Nuts

    (9)

Cap nuts, also called acorn nuts, are blind tapped hex nuts with acorn-shaped tops. They provide sealing for projecting thread parts.

Cap nuts feature a crown, or dome, covering. They are chosen for safety reasons, to cover protruding threaded mating parts and for decorative enhancement.

  • GRADE A, REVERSIBLE HEX LOCKNUT, ZINC CR+3

A distorted thread locknut is a type of locknut that uses a deformed section of thread to keep the nut from loosening from vibrations or rotation of the clamped item.

Center lock nuts are are distorted in the middle of the nut. This allows the nut to be started from either side.

  • HEX COUPLING NUT, A563 A, ZINC CR+3

Coupling nuts have long, hexagonal bodies. They are used to hold a threaded rod or machine screw at each end.

  • GRADE 2 HEX NUT, PLAIN

Hex nuts are six-sided, internally threaded fasteners, mated with bolts, studs, screws, and other externally threaded products. The addition of the hex nut ensures that the bolt, etc., stays in place.

Hex nuts of standard thickness are called finished hex nuts.

  • 2H HEAVY HEX NUT, A194 / SA 194, PLAIN

Hex nuts are six-sided, internally threaded fasteners, mated with bolts, studs, screws, and other externally threaded products. The addition of the hex nut ensures that the bolt, etc., stays in place.

Heavy hex nuts are wider across the flats and thicker than hex nuts.

  • FINISHED HEX JAM NUT, PLAIN

Hex nuts are six-sided, internally threaded fasteners, mated with bolts, studs, screws and other externally threaded products. The addition of the hex nut ensures that the bolt, etc., stays in place.

The hex jam nut is thinner than the standard (finished) hex nut. It is tightened against the work surface, with a standard hex nut tightened behind it to keep it firmly in place.

  • EXTERNAL TOOTH KEPS HEX LOCKNUT, ZINC CR+3

Kep® lock nuts typically have an attached or captive star-type locking washer. Typically, the washer is able to move freely.

  • HEX MACHINE SCREW NUT, PLAIN

Machine screw nuts are typically a six-sided internally threaded fastener with a flat top and chamfered corners. They are designed for use with machine screws.

Machine screw nuts are also available as a four-sided, internally threaded fastener with a flat top and bottom, without chamfer. However, user interest in square machine screw nuts has declined significantly during the past several years.

  • METRIC CLASS 8 HEX NUTS DIN 934 PLAIN

Hex nuts are six-sided, internally threaded fasteners, mated with bolts, studs, screws, and other externally threaded products. The addition of the hex nut ensures that the bolt, etc., stays in place.

  • GRADE C NYLON INSERT LOCKNUT, NE, PHOSPHATE & OIL

Nylon insert lock nuts are self-locking nuts, six-sided nuts with nylon-filled collars at their back end. These collars adhere to the thread of the fastener bolt or screw they are being used with. When a bolt or screw reaches the collar, the threads and nylon form a tight, frictional fit, restricting movement of the fastener.

Nylon-insert locknuts are excellent for use where a long-term lock is necessary, or to prevent loosening due to vibration.

  • SERRATED FLANGE HEX LOCKNUT, CASE HARDENED, ZINC CR+3

Hex flange nuts are six-sided nuts that have a wide flange at one end that act as an integrated, non-spinning washer. This serves to distribute the pressure of the nut over the part being secured, reducing the chance of damage to the part and making it less likely to loosen as a result of an uneven fastening surface.

The flange may be serrated to provide a locking action. The serrations are angled such that they keep the nut from rotating in the direction that would loosen the nut. Because of the serrations they cannot be used with a washer or on surfaces that cannot be scratched. The serrations help in avoiding vibration of nut and increase the holding power of nut.

  • SQUARE NUTS, GRADE 2, PLAIN

Square nuts are four-sided, internally threaded fasteners, mated with bolts, studs, screws, and other externally threaded products. The addition of the square nut ensures that the bolt, etc., stays in place.

Square nuts are most commonly mated with square bolts. Square nuts offer a greater surface area than do hex nuts, and therefore provide greater adherence. A disadvantage is that they require more effort to tighten.

  • GRADE C HEX ALL METAL CONE LOCKNUT, ZINC/WAX CR+3

Stover® lock nuts are one-piece hex nuts which derive their prevailing torque characteristics from controlled distortion of their top threads from their normal helical form to a more elliptical shape.

Frequently used in farm machinery, plus in the automotive and metalworking industries, they can withstand severe vibration and shock loads. They are reusable and can withstand temperatures of up to 450°F.

  • 3 & 4 PRONG TEE NUT, ZINC CR+3

    Tee Nuts

    (15)

Tee nuts are pressed cylindrical nuts with a flat top and sharp prongs jutting 90 degrees down from the flat top and parallel to the cylindrical nut shaft. The cylindrical shaft is threaded internally.

A captive nut, the tee nut allows one to put a threaded hole through wood, plywood, composite board, plaster, and other soft materials. The user can hammer the tee nut into a drilled hole in the material, then drill a screw through the threaded tee nut shaft into the material. Applications include furniture leg screw adjusters and internal wall mountings.

  • WING NUT, ZINC CR+3, LOW CARBON

    Wing Nuts

    (17)

Wing nuts have protruding 'wings' to make hand tightening and loosening easier. Wing nuts are used when a part is often assembled and disassembled by hand, where no more than finger pressure is needed. They may be used with or without a washer. The ease of use also make wing nuts popular for applications in which convenience is vital, such as on boats and bicycles.

Stamped wing nuts feature hollow wings open at the top. Cold-forged wing nuts are solid parts.
